Heritage 21 has collaborated with Sydney Local Area Health Service Over the last 10 years on various small projects relating to the maintenance & conservation of Callan Park in Rozelle which is a State listed heritage property.
- What was done
These works include the repair of walls affected by tree root zones, the design and detail specification of new planters around existing trees,; the provision of advise regarding the dilapidation of various buildings and structures on the campus and liaison with Sydney Area Health Project Managers in relation the university buildings, including lecture halls and retro fitting of existing building s for education purposes. Why was the work undertaken?
Callan Park comprises of a very large landscape area with prominent trees including Ficus Trees. Many of these trees have uplifted sandstone and brick walls which have required repairs. Additionally, Heritage 21 actively engaged with Sydney Local Area Health Service in providing advise regarding the conservation of various structures and buildings on the campus- many of which are currently abandoned and are rapidly falling into disrepair.
