Heritage 21 worked closely with Bob Sly Moore Architects and Aver Project Managers to convert this former bowling clubhouse into the administration wing of a new Catholic school campus.
- Project summary
The former South Hurstville Bowling Club was converted into the administration building for the new Marist Catholic School. Heritage 21 was involved throughout the process working with Bob Sly Moore Architects to ensure that the conversion and repurposing of the bowling club retained all of its heritage significance and the conservation of key heritage elements in the building including the primary façade, the Modernist design of the original building and the original signage.

Why was the work undertaken?
Catholic Schools acquired the bowling club site and commissioned Heritage 21 to provide heritage advice throughout the process of repurposing the building from its former sporting use into a school use.

Outcome
Very positive result. Heritage 21 was able to work closely with the architects and the project managers as well as the client by ensuring that the heritage elements were retained, protected, and conserved.
